‘Pushpa: The Rule’.. is a movie that the whole country is eagerly waiting for. As it is a sequel to ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, which was a pan-India hit less than three years ago, expectations have reached a high level. Let’s see how well ‘Pushpa-2’, which came before the audience today, met those expectations.
Story:
Pushpa (Allu Arjun), who started as a laborer and rose to become the leader of the red sandalwood syndicate, is waiting for revenge after he insulted the SP Bhanwar Singh Shekawat (Fahad Fazil) who had stopped him. Shekhawat is blocking red sandalwood smuggling run by Pushpa at every step.. The problem arises when a key person in the syndicate is killed. In this situation, the entire syndicate tries to apologize to Shekawat with Pushpa. But the problem becomes more complicated when Pushpa Damram turns around saying sorry. At the same time, Pushpa will accept a huge deal at the international level. And he crossed the big obstacle in the form of Shekawat… he completed this deal… where did the Pushpa-Shekawat fight go… all these questions need to be answered on screen.
Narrative-Analysis:
In ‘Pushpa‘, the hero starts as a simple laborer and rises to the level of a don who takes the red sandalwood syndicate under his wing. There is a lot of story in this journey. There are many twists and turns in that story. A lot of villains.. the obstacles they create.. heights upon heights.. Apart from all this, on the one hand, an emotional back story behind the hero’s lack of a family name.. on the other hand, his love story with a girl.. All these are combined in one package by Sukumar. Although there are some flaws.. one gets the feeling of watching a comprehensive story. ‘Pushpa’ gave the audience the high it needed to give with the high elevations in the big story.. with the explosive action moments. But by the end of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’.. the hero has already grown to a big rank. From there, there is not much scope to tell a story unless it rises higher or falls down. Again there is no opportunity to show a journey here. If the main character starts from zero and leads the story to reach a level, the audience will get a good kick, but if it shows the journey of a person who has already reached a level, then there is no fun in it. That is why it is not so easy to make a sequel to stories like ‘Pushpa’. But this time, Sukumar knew that he would not be able to impress with the story, so he focused on the ‘episodes’ that make the audience lose their focus. He filled the movie with breathless elevation scenes.. exhilarating action moments. Although the story is a bit disappointing, ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ has been made into a blockbuster movie due to the high-voltage episodes that appeal to the masses.
Mass and Sukumar mass are different. He also relies on hero elevations. Over the top mass scenes are taken. The action scenes look like two-touch. But in his films there is no unnecessary buildup for the hero. There is no such thing as a fight because something has to be fought. Although the elevation seems a little excessive.. there is a reasoning in it. Even though the fight seems extreme.. there is a logic hidden in it. He has a knack for making an ordinary mass scene, even an average action scene interesting by giving a lightning-like ending to each scene. This skill is seen in ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ in making the audience engaged for many episodes. In one scene, Pushpa catches the men red-handed and drops them at the Shekawat station. Pushpa goes there and frees them all. But he will not fight there. He does not create havoc with his men. Sukumar’s mark lies in what he will do to free them. Even if a little cinematic liberty is taken, whistles cannot be stopped for the way the scene ends in a tricky way. Also, what Pushpa will do in a situation where everything will settle down if he says ‘sorry’ to Shekawat, who is ready to destroy his business empire, out of revenge for the insult at his hands, is another explosive thing in ‘Pushpa-2’. It’s hard for the audience to sit back and watch this episode. Most of the scenes in ‘Pushpa-2’ start like normal. But dialogues that we don’t expect.. Sukumar gives a sweet shock with a lightning-like ending that doesn’t meet our expectations. Even if it seems a bit difficult to show that the hero has no face.. giving him two-touch elevation.. If you look at it from the perspective of the masses, the ‘high’ given by the episodes is not normal.
As mentioned earlier, ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ has a problem in terms of story. There is not much to say about the story. At the end of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, Sukumar gave signals that we are going to see Pushpa vs. Shekawat fight in the second part. The story here runs accordingly. The fight between the two, “You or me,” occupies a large part of the film. But Sukumar made that fight very interesting. Sukumar said that one intro scene is not enough for the hero.. Sukumar gave intros with elevations twice. The story bleeds a bit when Shekawat makes his debut and puts the brakes on the hero. By the time of break, the fight between the two will reach the flag level and ‘Pushpa-2’ will be in the limelight. If the high in the interval bang had continued in the second sense as well, the ‘Pushpa-2’ range would have been different. But in the second half, Sukumar put all the burden on the ‘Jatara’ episode. While giving a kick in terms of action, the Jatara episode which does not let you turn your eyes away, also touches emotionally. But before and after that, it got tighter in the episodes. With the challenge of Pushpa in front of Shekawat, we think that their fight will reach a different level later. But after a huge action block, Sukumar pulled off a comedy scene. Due to this, the intensity suddenly decreased. It is not good to run the entire story with Shekawat.. The director shifted the last half an hour and showed another ‘movie’ with a new villain. It causes mixed feelings. The final fight is okay but the climax is a feeling of missing something. The emotional ending given to the movie after the action episode is good. Overall.. ‘Pushpa-2’ can be said as a package with mass episodes. Although the story is reduced in this, the elevations are not affected
Actor’s:
There is no doubt that the role of Pushpa will definitely stand as a milestone in Allu Arjun’s career. The impact he made with the role was so strong that the role of Pushpa was digested by Naranarana. We completely forget that we are watching Allu Arjun and travel with Pushpa. The attitude shown by him according to that character.. all his gestures also seem to be on a different level. Bunny’s performance in the Jatara episode is just like Peaks. Bunny’s performance shows how Pushpa’s ego gets when he touches it, wow. Rashmika once again impressed as Srivalli. Compared to the first part, the dose of glamor has been increased.
Also the performance is impressive. She competed with Bunny in the Jatara episode. Fahadh Fazil in the role of the villain bursts out. Every time he appeared on the screen, he grabbed the attention of the audience. Compared to ‘Pushpa-1’, Rao Ramesh’s role has increased in importance. He did very well. Jagapatibabe seemed a bit contrived. Ajay did well in the final scene. Pushpa’s friend Keshava is played by Jagadish in a typical manner. Tarak Ponnappa excels in his short screen time. Sunil.. Anasuya does not have much scope in this. Srileela’s ‘Kisik’ song blew the minds of the boys. All other artistes are ok.
Technical category:
Technically there is no collision with ‘Pushpa-2’. Devisree Prasad’s songs were a hit. Peelings.. Kissik songs are not only good to hear but also good to see. The title song is also okay. Sooseki.. the melody is melodious. But Sukumar gave a big shock with its filming. It gives a mixed feeling. Devi’s background music brings joy to the masses. Jatara episode.. In the climax, Devi left her ears ringing. Elevated the elevation scenes with his RR. Cuba’s photography in Mirus is superb. The visuals are stunning. The art work is also very good. Especially in the fair episode, the work of the art director and cinematographer is commendable. The production values are great. Mythri movie makers did not compromise. Song lyrics.. dialogues are very good. When Mr. Valli asks, “What is Sami’s nightmare dream?” Pushpa tells the family name or the pain she is going through by saying, “What is a nightmare than the truth?” Also there is a dialogue where Pushpa says that he wants to burn his leg after boarding the helicopter. It is clear from the title credits that Sukumar took a lot of help in designing the script. However, he made sure that his mark was there throughout the film. Sukumar’s hard work is visible on screen. He made the episodes as if he had such a mass. In terms of storytelling, the brilliance shown by Sukumar in some films including ‘Rangasthalam’..it is a fact that it lacks the touch of class. But the way he styled the mass-elevation scenes with his own brand is what entertains the audience. Rather than pleasing a limited group with his brilliance, he seems to have made the film with the aim of entertaining the masses even if he lowered the level a little.
